On July 24, Jaide, an 8-year-old girl in Topeka, KS who started her own nonprofit organization called Kids in Care of Kids (KICK), is launching an effort to green her community by encouraging everyone to use reusable shopping bags in grocery stores.
Inspired by Yahoo's
Be A Better Planet campaign, she is now helping others "K.I.C.K. paper and plastic to the curb".
Yahoo! helped Jaide achieve her goal by sending her 900 reusable shopping bags to sell in local grocery stores to benefit charitable organizations.
Yahoo! also donated this Small Business web hosting account to promote her cause.
All Web Promotion, a web site design company that is also involved with children and adoption causes, stepped in to design this website free of charge.
Lastly, to inspire others to follow in Jaide's footsteps and make a difference in their own communities, Yahoo! featured her story on
www.Yahoo.com.
