Jaide's Prior Accomplishments
2008 Age 9 Attending the Democratic Convention in August. Jaide, with her brother Jordaan, will be journaling her experiences and hopes to have them published in her city newspaper.
2008 Age 9 Leading various activities to collect money for Greensburg, Kansas devastated by a tornado, the entire town was destroyed.
2008 Age 9 Recipient of the Kohls Kids Who Care Scholarship. Out of 1,400 nominations around the country, Jaide was one of 192 chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship.
2008 Age 9 Donated stuffed animals to the Topeka Police Department to give to children who were victims of domestic disputes, car accidents or a victim of a crime with the help of her older brother Jordaan and younger sister Olivia.
2008 Age 9 Received the Golden City Service to Mankind (SERTOMA) Youth Award for past and continued work in the Topeka Community
2008 Age 8 Received the Martin Luther King Living the Dream Youth Award for her continued work in the Topeka Community
2007 Age 8 Purchase over $500 worth of gifts to give to children at the Topeka Rescue Mission.
Jaide was joined by other K.I.C.Ks Kids in this endeavor. K.I.C.Ks Kids dressed as elves as they shopped.
2007 - Age 8 - Sold 900 reusable shopping bags donated by Yahoo! to benefit various agencies that help the environment and/or work towards making lives of kids better.
2007 - Age 8 - Donated new stuffed animals for the Stormont Vail Hospital and St. Francis Hospital, (Cuddles for Comfort) so kids who come out of surgery have something to hold for comfort.
2006 - Age 6 - Assisted with Project Takeover for the beautification of Topeka neighborhoods
2006 - Age 6 - Gave away free bookmarks at the Black Foster Care Adoption Fair
2005 - Age 6 - Honored by The Capitol Journal as a "Distinguished Kansan of the Year for Youth"
2005 - Age 6 - Donated 50 teddy bears for Christmas to the children at the Topeka Rescue Mission
2005 - Age 6 - Collected gently used and new storybooks for the Brown Foundation Library
2005 - Age 5 - Collected over 9,000 pennies to convert a baseball diamond so handicapped kids can play baseball
2005 - Age 5 - Started an organization called K.I.C.Ks (Kids In Care of Kids) and raised nearly $500 for the victims of the December 2004 Tsunami. Money was given to the American Red Cross in Topeka, KS.
